I played on a server where all my teammates started to glow in all kinds of colors after they went through a phasegate, how come?

When your PC and GFX card is overheated the HL engine shows the weridest things.

Or there's a setting from Adminmod (?) called admin_fun, this allows people to type "glow color" to glow a certain color, like "glow red" etc, this could have been what you saw.

that adminmod glow fun plugin glow is an opengl effect, looks and behaves like the glow of the quake 3 engine.
opular on all unserious just for fun servers.
