<div class="IPBDescription">Please help</div> The problem here is that, when I run any game, Natural Selection, Counter-Strike, Wacrcraft3, whatever the game is my computer turns off the screen automatically and then only way to fix this is to restart the computer. Now, this has been happening to me today only. Yesturday It was just fine and I havent installed or downloaded anything between yesturday and today so I am confused as to what the problem is. However when im running windows or on the internet it never shuts the screen off only when im playing in a game. Anyone know what the solution to this problem is? (Also, when in actual game menus it works fine but when I join a game thats when it locks up and turns off the screen)

Im running:

- 1-AMD Athlon K7, 855MHz
- NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
- Display: 1024x768/32bit/60Hz
- Windows XP Home Edition

Are you the only one using the computer, could somone else have changed something?
Is the computer going into suspend mode?
Is it possibly shutting down due to temperature?
Do you have all the windows updates?
How long into a game does it do this?
This really sounds like windows suspending the computer..
Try the windows key on the keyboard, the three fingered salute (ctrl-alt-del), alt-tab, ctrl-esc, and possibly ctrl-break.. one of those may wake the computer up..
Or just press some random buttons

Bleh - missed this one, sorry. Can you tell us what your monitor refresh rate is set to (aka, it is probably way too high)? This is usually the problem with these symptoms.

Its a Plug and Play monitor at 60hz (Refresh Rate)

-Yes im only one on my comp
    -Yes I have all updates
-For games like HL mods it takes 2-3 mins for Warcraft3 its instant
-I have drivers for graphic card as well
    -No it is not overheating
-I have re-installed windows and the problem is still there.

I ran NS in 640x? and it worked fine but my other games that require more graphics still dont run

K I had already downloaded the drivers, turns out to be the 640x480 mode worked for like 10 minutes and then shut off as well. I switched my refresh rate to 85hz to find out that I could play. I played for about an hour then I closed NS and when I tried to open it again it crashed, so i think I just got lucky, me and some guys ran DirectX and OpenGL test on my computer and it passed them all. Im still having the problem and I have no clue what the hell to do next =/
