I gotta disagree on the kill thing. If I'm going to go down, I want the Onos to go down with me. That means putting the extra bullets into him instead of just meekly accepting it, and jumping around to try to get out of the way (devour is tough to land, comparitively), so my teammates have that much of an easier time killing it and trying to get me out of its stomach. I've seen a lot of close calls won against Onos (and a lot not, on the flip side), but I have to think it's always worth going down fighting.
The biggest "problem" with the whole devour thing, is that I usally saw like four Onii come into the base, eat quarter of our team, then redeem out. Now that's been fixed with the 2.01a patch, speeding it up, or doing SOMETHING rather than looking at the stomach. To anyone who says 2.0x is unbalanced, i have but this to say:
Marines won about 5 out of 8 games on kustomkettle ns server today (at least while I was there) because we had teamwork, communication and leadership. Even onos can't do much when you all work together and concentrate your hmg fire on one at a time.
