Hl Crashes When Running Ns_lost !

re download reinstall

you probably have some sorta error in a lost file

if you gave us an exact description of the crash we might be able to help better (and your sys specs)

pls give us all info you can

is it a CTD (crash to desktop), does is freez, is it to console, are there any error msgs? when does HL crash? etc etc etc

it crashes to desktop, and it occours when changing map to lost, joining a server running lost or hosting a game running lost !!! i dont think my system has to do something with it. all other maps and mods work well. but lost doesnt <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

when loading ns_lost, it crashes to desktop and hl.exe still runs in background !

and sometimes it crashes the same way when a round is finished or at mapchange ! but this doesnt occur that often, ns_lost crashes all the time !!!!

i downloaded ns setup again and reinstalled it, downloading the map from a gameserver didnt work, too.
after downloading it crashed again. i also re-downloaded ns_lost.wad.


i have a pentium 3 800, voodoo 3 3000, 512 mb ram, sb live player sound card with 5.1 settings

dont blame my slow pc <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> it works well with all other mods and maps of HL

any ideas or suggestions ?

I contacted the map author to get a complete asset list and description, and I'll get back to you shortly with some possible things to check...

I am having the exact same problem... Whenever I join a server running ns_lost or the map changes on a server to ns_lost Half-Life crashes to the desktop and I have to end the process manually from Task Manager. I think it is the video card since I have the same one as the parent poster, here are my specs:

Pentium III 1GHz
Voodoo 3 3000 vid card
Creative SB Audigy2
512MB RAM
Windows 2000 Pro

HL is running with the 3dfx Open GL Driver...

the driver version on my vid card is 5.0.2195.232 and I think this is a 3dfx driver, not a 3rd party one.

The problem is very specific to ns_lost, and I had similar issues in 1.04 when I downloaded it as a custom map. I believe the problem is in the map itself, I really wonder what makes that specific map so special.

it must be something that has to do with voodoo 3. cause thats the vid card i have and i have the same problem..
