^click on above^ umm.. ^click above^ ?
Tip # 1: Keep your hints on
In order to really learn about these stuff on ns, keep your hints on, it will tell about stuff you point at such as structures and players.
Tip # 2: Read the slideshow turtorial
When you download 2.0, there is a small slideshow turtorial with it. If your new, you should really read it, it tells you stuff about marines, aliens (as soon as you want to be aliens, i HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU READ THE TURTORIAL), How to win, and other neat stuff.
Tip # 3: Observing
If your a newbie, you might want to observe the match before you jump in the teams. Observing the match might give ya a little bit of hints on how to play, and what people do.
Tip # 4: Controls
Just in case you dont like the default keys, you may want to change the controls
( Many other options are blank, such as quick taunts, quick evouloutions, quick commanding mode stuff, and other stuff you may want to fill in)
Tip # 5: Joining the teams
As many people already know, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you join marines as a newbie. Aliens are quite complicated, and hard to learn about if you join it first. Join marines first, and when you learn everything about marines, you may start learning about aliens.
Tip # 6: Marine Tips
- Marines are a team, you should listen, co-operate, and cover each other.
- Always listen to your commander
- When you are hanging around base doing nothing, always ask for orders
-If an order becomes void (as in the waypoint stays there even though people already went there), than i suggest asking the commander if he really wants you to go there.
-You have more than 1 weapon, dont forget about your slots.
- Stick with other marines, as a marine's survival is lower without cover/backup
- Learn how to build and use switches with your "use" key
- Dont always attack defenceless hives or alien structures, maybe the commander wants you to set up a siege assault there.
- Listen for alien footsteps, as you need to know if they are trying to sneak up on you.
- Use your pop-up menu
- Dont waste ammo on shooting at nothing, and use your knife to hit defenceless alien structures such as chambers and recource towers.
- NEVER, EVER, EVER, whine for equipment such as shotguns
Tip # 7: Alien tips
- Learn about upgrades and stuff with hints
- use your speed, hp, attacks, and upgrades to your advantage
- Pheromones is kinda useless, since its only useful if you tracking marines from behind, but its a lot ezier to track marines with parasite and scent of fear
- Aliens also need to work as a team to take out bases and defending places.
- The main way people build chamber upgrades in order is: sensory, defence, movement
- Try to take out marines important structures
- If you have 25 or more res, ALWAYS try to build an rt if you come across an open res node (this is very important at the beginning of the game)
-Dont build an rt if you're an onos
Tip # 8: Recources
Remember that killing also gets you res, so as aliens, killing will gain you your own sack of recources, as for marines, more recources for the commander (marines don't use recources, commanders do)

Also don't forget that when you attack a structure, your alerting the alien team to your loctation.
Since we're repeating ourselves, you forgot to mention the thing about n00bs taking comm. But you may want to define what a n00b is, I've seen plenty of bad comm's out there.

Tip #5 is USELESS. Often what the marine team gets is a bunch of rambo non-team players that often or always leads to the downfall of the marine team. Also if you play as marine all the time you are only playing half the game. I highly suggest you play as alien the first time you play OR play as marine for one game, then if you can alien the next. The alien team allows you to rambo to some extent, and thus isn't harmed much when you go it alone; just be sure to help your team when you can.
"- Dont always attack defenceless hives or alien structures, maybe the commander wants you to set up a siege assault there."
Yes, ask the commander if you should attack the structure; unless its a res node out in the middle of nowhere. IF you played as alien you'd know that the aliens get a warning of which building is under attack; and thusly quickly defend it. The seige is always better if you snuck in, didn't attack buildings back, build a turret factory and some seiges, then razed the hive.
"- Dont waste ammo on shooting at nothing, and use your knife to hit defenceless alien structures such as chambers and recource towers."
Movement and Defence chambers you can knife safely, however, if you touch the sensory chamber you become parasited; but at the same time decloak the sensory chamber. If you have a welder use that to attack buildings with; it has a range and you can safely attack a sensory without getting parasited. The welder also does its damage at a fairly quick pace; but dont use it to attack a alien unless its all you got (and even then the knife may be better)
I've touched them without being parasited, so I'm pretty sure that was removed.
