Mods Crash! :'(

ok then i run on a:
AMD Athlon xp 2100+
512mb ddr ram
nvidia geforce 4 64mb
80gig HD
my sound card is ermm i think Avance AC'97 audio for via

im running ns at 1024x768 resolution and on opengl ive made no ajustment to the sound files or models becoz ive just installed ns and dod but they both freeze i cant rember wat i last did to make it freeze i have no idea but as soon as i get in the game after bout 5sec maybee longer it just crsahes. on every hl mod! someone says it my sound card.! but i need other solutions to buying new card. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo-->

Have you updated your audio drivers and video drivers? When you say 'crash' (and please - don't), do you get an error dialog? Does it simply come back to the desktop? Does your PC lockup?

In most cases, this is due to a malfunctioning or incompatible driver on your audio or video card.
