Please, I was forced to watch Perfect Blue. Good story? Yes. Very Alfred Hitchcock-y.

Everything else was retarded. The drawing, the disproportionate women, the terrible ideas for outfits, even. Who are they marketing to? Obviously the 13-14 year olds without girlfriends.

    1) Rediculous kung-fu in a modern environment. Please, doesn't anyone pack heat when half-naked man #12 starts getting his Real Utlimate Power on?

    2) People with cat ears or crap like that.

    3) Perverted animators drawing 20 minute long sex scenes. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I think you misunderstood my post, I was saying that a good deal of anime is in fact drawn with smaller eyes, with no emotion scenes (although why anyone would want that I'm not sure), withought the large large mouths(or at least comparable in this category to Cowboy Bebop), and does not contain a single character with blue hair (which is actually UNlike bebop as Faye's hair is a very purple shade of blue). But anyway, in response to your post:

1)By that I can only assume you mean DBZ which is ONE series. Judging an entire broad genre of animation by one particular man's (Akira Toryama) personal style is a rather bad way to judge things.

2)I KNOW YOU DID NOT JUST DISS CAT GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEBODY HOLD ME BACK CUZ IF YOU DON'T I'MA HAVE TO FLAME THIS GUY INTO NEXT WEEK. You crossed the line man. You went too far.

3)I can tell you from a good deal of experience that most Hentai scenes are a good deal less than 20 minutes.

Exactly how were the women disproportionate? Perfect Blue has some extremely realistic character drawing in it. I'd figure you'd be more likely to say the women were diproportionate if they had extremely large breasts, which not a single Perfect Blue character did. The outfits were the kind of outfits that would be worn by actual Japanese Pop singers, so they were meant to convey realism, they weren't "retarded". And once again, I fail to see how you can make this last statement, how are they marketing to "13-24 year olds withought girlfriends"? There is no fanservice, and the subject matter and presentation are very mature. Are you just insulting this for the hell of it now?

yeah, big up da cowboy bebop massive... uhh?
am I the only one that finds it easier to appreciate the amazing artwork when your watching sub, and not having to concentrate on all that writing?!
I mean, you can follow the story, and its 'more original', but you not watching the picture half of the time! the pictures matter!

dont get me wrong, its nice to listen to the original voice acting once in a while, its just far less of a film, and far more of a book.

now, back to cowboy bebop, did i mention that series makes me cry? its way too deep for tv! every episode has such a level of quality its like a full on flim. The characters are well convincing, and no matter what else you may hear, spike speigal IS the definition of cool..

i'm assuming you don't know what it's like to have a (regular?) girlfriend... porn is awesome/necessary for many people with significant others.

edit: and also... in terms of realistic artwork, you forgot that, in bebop, people's noses are still sharp enough to slice titanium like a hot laser cutter through microwave melted butter.

I was going to post what I said earlier about blue hair, big eyes and enourmous mouths in anime because I thought I'd done so in another post, but apparently it's in this one. Nevertheless, I'll say it again: that's part of what makes it so good. If you don't think that makes it good: don't watch it. It isn't your thing.
