Don't hold down the bite button, press it instead. You might want to lower your mouse sensitivity, too.
And like what SoulSkorpion siad, bite when you are sure you can hit your target. My scores have boosted up a lot since I've learned to not bitespam.
And if you really feel your mouse sensitivity is too low, then try turning it up,I play it at 15 and if I'm in the mood,25
When you see a marine and you know you can get him from a close range, run out from the corner and jump left and right, onto the walls and ceiling, down to the floor until you reach him, run around back and bite him, he will turn around, you circle him and bite him. Dead .

For multiple marines, you could try the same thing, instead bite all of them, don't focus on one, or you will be a dead .

I could take some tries, but you will get good at it in no time.
It might also depend on what kind of person your up against, and what his ping and fps are.

Golden rule: Never fight on a marines terms unless your in a desperate situation.
If the fight begins at close quarters instead of at range, and you got the drop on them, you should win easily. If you see a marine at the end of along corridor, dont bother charging at them, instead parasite them and stalk them until your in a better position to attack.
Practice attacking from vents and ceilings, with practice you will land a free bite every time as you drop on them. Use sound to your advantage and attack marines coming around corners. Practice when the best time to attack is when cloaked. Rather then attack a marine near a res node, let the commander drop an RT, then kill the 'rine and have the RT for afters
Learn to let lerks soften marines up so they only take one bite to kill. If you attack a group of marines try and kill the one at the back and then just leap in and spam bite. You'll probably not kill many but wound most of them, making them easy prey for your comrades. Learn to co-ordinate attacks with fellow skulks, for example if you see some marines coming down a corridor and theres a skulk in a vent in front and above them, tell him to wait till they've gone past then attack from behind whilst you attack from the front.
Keep at it, and eventually it all becoems natural
Welcome to NS!!!
No! Jumping is suicide. It doesn't help you hit any better, it doesn't kill the marines any quicker, and you just jump right down their gun barrel, or into their knife. Stay low.

Not true. Anway, I didn't say "use low sensitivity", I said "lower your sensitivity". If your sens is too high you can't track your target in a melee and get lots really easily. You can't possibly compare ns to "any of the Quake games" because it is not a twich shooter. Melee combat demands that you are able to track your target in close quarters, not that you're able to spin around really quickly and nail them with a railgun slug.

Not really. If you are fighting three marines and you bite them all once, you *still* have three marines firing at you. If you bite one of them twice, you only have two marines firing at you. It's much better to have less marines attacking you than the same amount of half-dead marines attacking you.
Also, after you're dead, the comm can nourish 'em back to health with medpacks, and then you still have three marines out in the field, threatening you. If you take one out and then die, you've at least accomplished something. Also, even a 40hp marine is still a serious threat to skulks, as they need to get close to bite him.
