Onos Rodeo!

Ok enough with the 2.0 gripes. Today I sucessfuly rode an Onos in the heat of battle.

It was what is now a typical marine stalemate in ns_eclipse. Kharaa control the entire map except for the heavily turreted marine base and they just can't get a successful attack off. One or two at a time they charge in and die or redeem. Multiple Oni, fades and exploding skulks. None of them could get it together. We managed to kill the eclipse hive but to no avail. Soon after we were back in our base killing off waves of aliens and holding only one res node.

This goes on for about an hour before I get so bored I decide to call a peace treaty between species. I tell them to meet me at sub junction and we can work it out.

Ok, I sneak off to eclipse hive and dodge some offense chambers. An onos with scent of fear comes rumbling in. I quickly type "DONT KILL ME". He listens and I proceed to ask if I can ride on his back. My pet onos obliges and jumps down into the sunken part of the eclipse hive. He cloaks from a nearby chamber and my first jump misses. I run back up and this time I land it!. 2.5 seconds later an offense chamber finishes me off.

So it's may be a long and pointless story, I know. But it is posible to enjoy this game. Remember? Play it some more and you will start to see the rhythm of 2.0. Aliens expand quickly and own the start of the game. Marines get tough by mid game and can hold ground forever with turrets, electrified structures and phase gates. These stalemates are the result of an alien team not working together. Marine losses are a result of not being aggressive enough and securing and holding a few res nodes until higher tech is viable.
