Screen Capture On Ns

Alright, first off, this is mostly off topic of NS, but it could pertain to NS in the future.

Basically, I watch those CS ownage videos and think, "Wow! I wanna make those!". I've also thought this way about Quake III, UT2003, and NS. But, I've already hit my first snag. Although I can record a demo for playback in later usage, I have no good way of recording what appears on my screen to an AVI, MPEG, or whatever. I tried using HyperCam, but I seriously think it wasn't made for screen capture of games. I do have MGI Videowave III, so I can edit the videos, I just need a good screen capture program, like the ones they use for those CS videos. Anyone got any ideas?

If you can help me out, that would be great. I would also like to say that I need a program, or just a good idea, that will work with a computer with the following stats. THX!!!

AMD Athlon 2200+
512MB RAM DDR
200GB HD 7500RPM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro w/ S-Video Out

Every video I see is usually made with TV-Out going into a converter, and into a PowerBook.

look up fraps, www.google.com. if your pc can't handle it, though...

well theres two ways, theres a console command that will let you turn the fps in frames in a demo then you use a program to compile them into a video file - that takes massive amounts of HD space, the next would be to play the demo through the svideo to a VCR and then record it.. i think they make svideo to rca so it would be easier to do that. after you have the video made from the vcr you could put it on the computer with a capture card then reencode the video....
