<div class="IPBDescription">Comparison pics</div> Ok, so <i>some</i> of you may have played my map in its RC3 status, it has lots of placeholders everywhere (the RR is a big one), some days ago started to detail all these bland areas, and these are the first results, first, two shots of this version and then the same two locations on the new one:

    That's good! lightning i well done, texture are ok but it's too empty. U really should add lot of details i think.

    Those areas are empty for a reason: They join areas of the map with high r_speeds, I can't put more detail there, I can still add more detail on the second one, but as I said, that one is not finished <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    and i think in a few weeks we should REALY make a big cool mappacks with all the cool maps.. there are some realy cool out there :-)

    Really nice, but I would like to see the r_speeds on those shots, since if they're too low, you can just add more detail, and if they're a little high, just leave it there <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It looks nice, but empty. All they are just big empty rooms. Maybe you should try interesting geometry and/or some stuff on the floor or walls.

    Last time I explain this:

    Don't tell me: "add more detail", I said TWICE that those areas join other areas of the map with high r_speeds (500 or so, the first one is at the end of "Reservoir Overlook", so almost 600) if I add more detail, I'll get even higher r_speeds, obviously not on the screenshots... and on the second one I have like 350, so I can still add more detail

    I think some people don't like to read

    and btw: It's not that big...

    Edit: If you didn't notice it: I <b>MUST</b> keep that low-poly

    Edit2: The area on the first pic is at the end of this corridor (2000 units long):

    rather than increasing the r_speeds, you could increase the appearance of detail with more higher contrast lights and busier textures.

    Ah! The crew is blinded by these lights in the stairs! They will stumble over every step!
    Your map is still looking good though. Can you put together a series of screens of one area so we get a picture of how the rooms and hallways connect and how detail is spread?

    Look at my sig, you can download RC3, I'm still working on the layout on RC4, I have changed a lot of things and it looks much better, the version I released has let me know which layout changes (and architecture changes too) I had to do <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Looks good so far on that last screenshot,but the lighting looks 'cheerful' in some sort of sense and this map was called phobia <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> try using a color that is a little more sinister to add to the feel of the station slowly being taken over by aliens

    Oh, well, the map concept changed while I was making it, and changed a lot more when NS 1.0 was released <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And, btw, I'll repost some pics of the Marine Spawn and the Commander View (I noticed that a skulk with silence could destroy the RT easily so I'll probably move the Res node)

    looks good...... datail datail i know what you mean...... i would love to add more datail to the rr od my map ns_deep5 but r_speeds of 500 are not good

    btw, this is what I have done atm on the next version (still redoing / adding things)
