Rt Info In-game

Am I the only one who doesn't like how occasionally the game tells everyone how many RTs each team has? Why would they add in a feature that tells the enemy how many RTs you have? The teams should have to scout out the RT's to see for themselves, not just magically be told how many they have. Consequently, I think there should be a HUD indicator on the marine's and alien's screen that tells you how many RT's your team has at all times, just to be informed.

Also, to help balance the early "gorge RT rush" where everyone on the alien team runs to an RT as skulk goes gorge and drops an RT, I propose that only a certain number of RTs can be built per hive. So like, when 1 hive is up, the max alien RTs that are allowed to take in res is 3 RTs. Two hives is 6 RTs, and three hives supports as many as can be built on the map. The gorges could still build the RTs on the nodes, but they would not start collecting res until the next hive is built or other RTs are destroyed.

And I am not a marine player complaining, I play aliens almost exclusively, and gorge most of all. Just for the record I love NS 2.0 and think for the most part it is almost perfectly balanced despite some easy resources aliens can get rather quickly.

Your idea of limiting the number of res per hive is not a good one. It would bring back the power of the 2 hive lock down. One of 2.0's goal was to increase the importance of res, while decrease the importance of hives. The way it is now has done that.

By the way, the gorge booming tactic isn't as good as you make it out to be. There are only about 9ish res nodes on the maps, and half of them are closer to the marines then the aliens. Also, the counter to booming would be shot gun rushing the alien hive. With everyone as gorge, and away from the hive, the shotguners will be able to take it down before the aliens know what is happening to them. (I have had this done to me as an alien, I am not exaggerating)

That isnt shown in tournament mode, but i can see how it would annoy. what i dont understand is the "new age" commanders dislike of getting other res nodes at all, and will happily sit on 1 rt the whole game, then shout out when asked for upgrades "DO I LOOK LIKE I HAVE THE RES TO DO THAT"

GG comm we have been holding 4 unocupied nodes all game..

After all, it's a nice way to know what to focus on: "Oh, my team is falling behind on rts, better destroy some of the opponent's/place some myself."
Or: "Good, we're leading, time to press the offensive."
As for limiting alien res towers: Don't think so. If marines hold the two unbuilt hives and nothing else, aliens should be able to get all the nodes they want. They'll need the res without hive two and three abilities. Also, the "rt rush" isn't unbalanced, the marines can do the same (and, with electrify, have a very good early defence for those rts).

decent players see the res count and instantly know which res points the other team has, therefore can easily take them down.

remove the res node counter .

If they know the exact way the opponent expands, why wait for the node counter and not just go there and check? I often build RCs that sit around the entire game without being touched, yet most of the time are completely without defense.
