<div class="IPBDescription">May it be usefull?</div>I´m playing around with visual c++, and i know some about map editing. Since the nature of this mod is not to have floor over floor structure, may be will be useful for mappers and architecture-editor looking the map from above. It will be some like a paint editor mix with a editor. I have many ideas for the editor, like and, snap to grid, scale map, differents marks for special places, create room templates to reuse them, an exporter to .map files, exporter to bmp,jpg...
I´m very interesting in any reply to this post, at last I must make clear this won´t be a "final editor" like worldcraft; it´s aim for the hard first planning around maps, and it could have interesting use in release "maps-concept" wooohh i not sure this exists <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> .

My only concern is that I'm thinking maybe it's not worth the time and effort on your part, considering that this kind of planning can already be done right inside of VHE/Worldcraft.
Buuuut... If it has lots of nifty little features implemented right in there specifically for this kind of application (planning layouts), I bet it might be worth it. For example, predicted travel routes, a "timer" that tells you how far apart it would take to get from one area to another, color coding, etc, etc, etc.

i actually thought of something very similar before, but dont have enough C++ knowledge to make it work, if you could have a timer and all that it would be cool.
I really hate pixel to pixel editing in paint <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->
I'd say go for it, I'm sure atleast a couple of people will download it.

overall, its a really neat idea, and if u need help with making doors and corrdors an stuff, im there!!
exemple, you have an idea, when the programm is good enouh, you make the overview with this programm, the make it to a map (ok, never make a hole map with that, just for fun) and then thest ingame how it would be, i mean, its playable, just ugly.
it would be also cool if you can make little notices and so.. like a program for an arcitecur.... (*idea*) someones knows a good programm like that... i have kazaa, its no problem...
