Stuck On 60fps

<div class="IPBDescription">No matter what I try........</div> I seem to be stuck on 60fps regardless of what setting I use. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have a GF4 5600 128mb card with a P4 2.4 ghz (hyperthreadding), 512mb RAM (400mhz) and a gigabyte 8IPE - 1000 Pro main boad.

I'm running HL in OpenGL mode (using the default driver) with any resolution 400x300 right up to 1600x1200 and the only fps I get is 60, no more, no less.

I've got the latest Nvida drivers and I'm using a new LG 19" CRT screen at 85hz refresh. I've also set the fps_max to 100.

I've tested the graphics card with tools from www.passmark.com and it does very well so I know It can do more than 60 fps. The fact that I get 60fps at 1600x1200 means that I should be able to get more at 800x600 right <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Is there anything that I could be missing?

Thanks in advance for any help <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You have vsync enabled and running your display adaptor at 60Hz? Open display applet in control panel, try setting your refresh rate higher, and test accordingly.

    make sure fps_modem isn't 60, that'll lock you into 60 as well..

    but mons is right your refresh rate (hz) will lock you in @ 60..

    Thanks for the help guys. So quick!

    It looks like my monitor refresh was stuck on 60fps as it suggests in "Roob's Fps/Vsync Guide" even though XP <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> says it's higher. I downloaded the tweak to force the refresh to the max for the monitor. 100fps all the way now baby.

    They should really make that a sticky.

    Again, thanks guys. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
