    From what I understand it should. There just seems to be no games on steam.

    Ya... the Steam HL connects to the Valve network, while normal HL connects to the WON network. Also.. I'm pretty sure you would have to pull quite a few tricks to get steam to accept NS as a game, let alone actually get a server up and have people play on it.
