Cs And Ns (and Other Problems..)

Where to start.. hmm..

Ok.. first things first.. For some reason i cant get ASE to filter Ns servers.. (i cant find ns servers for that matter.. in game or on ASE) (Woah.. thunder.. cool..) back on topic....

2nd... I tried quick start.. seemed like a reasonable option... it got to a server.. then said that my map was different from the servers map..

ok.. Now its saying that it cannot connect to servers
Edit... Can connect through game spy.. But it crashes within a few seconds..
Edit again: It says im missing a bitmap font.. 640 somthing or other... but it lets me play for a few seconds.. goes back to loading console.. and crashes.. Arrrghhhhh
anyone care to tell me how i can fix these problems so i can play NS

Looks like your relying on external programs to play NS. I use ASE and if you use the "automatic update" option you should get an NS filter underneath "Half Life" ... Were CS, ect, are.

Ok, you wanna play NS? Hmm.... Ok Im from Europe so i dont know any american servers but here are the servers I play on mostly:

213.208.119.231:27025
212.42.1.246:40010
212.42.13.20:27015
213.160.110.215:27015
213.160.110.20:27015
195.22.129.180:27015

If you just write them down on a peice of paper, or just ctrl+c them, then go into ASE, go to Server > New Server > Select Half Life > Enter IP > click ok

The server's should show up for you and double clicking will take you into the game.

Ill be on for another 20 minutes if that never worked.

This is perfectly normal because the server is probably playing a custom map... You can download from the server if you really want to (if it lets you) but its best to just stick the ready made maps <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Thats very strange... but if its says your missing something then you may need the latest half life patch... 1.1.1.0 - about 71meg .... or try reinstalling NS 2.0 ... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NS 2.0!! Its roughly 116meg.

Had interesting idea.. working so far.. (configure halflife.. so it goes to CS.exe..) now to see if it will play..
