Aliens need to realise they cannot just easily butcher every marine they come across. The shotgun is perfectly fine and is one of the few highlights in an otherwise lackluster arsenal for the marines. If the aliens can have an instant death weapon (or semi instant death) devour and the massive damage charge, then so can the marines have an equivalent too.

10 DMG per shot for an HMG? No No my friend... It's 20 dmg. It's 10 dmg per shot against buildings.
It only takes 50 shots from an HMG to kill a lv. 3 carapace onos.
Not to mention the HMG attacks from range and has a fairly tight cone. The HMG is by far a better weapon than the SG in many situations.
However, the SG is extreamlly versitale, I'd say it's good to have a shotgun backbone to every marie force with GL and HMG backup.

Fair enough a grp of 10 ppl with a shotty each would requie a small bit of teamwork to shoot somin together. although that is very small its about same teamwork as walking into a room together.
not to mention the fact that u wouldnt need 10 shottys to kill an onos easy as well and alien res is alot slower than marine. (to the rt)

With motion tracking, ambushes become futile. If the marine has any brains at all, he's going to be looking around him, using eyes AND ears. Furthermore, blink makes a TERRIBLE amount of noise, and have you ever tried to attack a bouncing marine as a fade? It takes roughly 4x longer because he's so much faster then you.
