<div class="IPBDescription">from my map</div> i'm working on ns_lockdown the first beta is already out so we can findout about ballancing issues etc but it doesnt look its best yet i just want some ideas for making my coridoors less bland i've revamped one of them an i thought i'd show u guys an get some opinions

    your light texture doesnt need to tile along the wall, why not make some smaller little lights? Also you are using the orange light texture but you have a white lights going down the hall, is there a reason for this?

    Well, in my opinion it's still way too bland. And it's far too long, any alien wouldn't stand a chance going down that corridor if a marine was sat in there. Try adding more obstacles (like the crate in the first image) that a skulk can hide behind so he's at least got a chance against a marine.

    Other than that, i'm afraid, it's all boring, the lighting needs spicing up, the architecture needs more detail and the texturing needs work.

    Do you know how to use texture lighting? If not I suggest learning how.

    I think your lighting overall needs some revamping, as just plain old white wont cut it, you need some colours, just dont overdo it.
    Otherwise I suggest adding some random features like obtrusive machinery or pipes, anything that will add some detail to your map.

    thanks 4 the feedback i'm still a newbe mapper really and i'm willing to take on any tips given (those screens are from a map that me and rellix are working on (an equally experienced mapper) its not my first map however it is my first serious map) the layout of it is finished and it is being beta tested to find ballance issues and i am now working on making the map look more interesting and less boring

    Hey it's that NUT geezer. Heh.. and I went into IRC after that game (you probably don't remember but it was eclipse ready room and we was just jumping about talking about mapping - my in game name is 'Someone else') but no one was around in your IRC room (all Idling).
