To Anyone Playing On 56k...help?

<div class="IPBDescription">Not sure if this belongs here.</div> I'm on 56K, and when I try to play any HL mod, I get terrible lag. Especially on turret farms. Like I can't move for over 30 seconds, and my speech is lagged by 3 minutes. Do you know any optimization tricks?

    First thing to do is make sure u have HL set to 56k if its already at that you might want to try changing your rate, I think roob has made a post about optimization a while ago.

    Oh and are you playing on a server on the other side of the globe? cause thats what im like when I play on US servers.

    I used to get that when I was on 56k, I got it all the damn time.     I actually get some good killing sprees. Only a week or two for cable...-prays fo 25,000 dollar inheritance-

    I use to play 56k but this was on 1.04 and I lagged very rarely. (PC - 2.6, 512mb, G4 64MB)
