Looking very good there! But I will suggest scaling those light_spots down alittle. It seems rather unatural that so small spots can cast so big and bright light. And maybe do something with those "supporters" on the texture you got on the wall. This is a good start. But somehow I think the shadows need to be made a bit more ... shadowy. Maybe decrease the brightness of the white and yellow lighting.
Decreasing the light brightness wouldn't darken the shadows, I'd have to further ramp up the gamma. It's at 1.7, with the -gamma switch and the light intensity values finely tuned. It looks darker in-game too, but you'll just have to take my word for it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I don't mind the blackness. I considered your RR theme that the join areas are black (like the infestation texture with the black background). It has it's good sides that there is black. For example you don't feel like being teleported from a pit to somewhere else, the ready room looks more ready roomish and not like part of the actual map. At least it does not look n00bish <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well, what I think maybe you could do is extend the join portals a bit more. Tiny rooms arent really that...sexy.
Maybe have the alien portal twist down so you *slide* down it, into the dark portal? Gotta make joining teams fun, dont forget.
If I ever make a map I'm going to have trigger push (Or whatever, I dont know hammer worth a shizz) and when you step into the portal, it throws you up into the team.
Was going to say the same thing that Redford pointed out about the random team...but he got to it first. Maybe take a lesson from hera and make a large bright light? Map looks great anyways, GOOD LUCK I DO WANNA SEE IT !!
