I've kinda noticed lots of us here are quite into design or whatever the hell, and basically for quite a while now I've been going to <a href='http://www.anticubicle.com' target='_blank'>Anti Cucible</a>. It's a pretty cool designers forum, there's a whoel bunch of about 10 - 20 hardcore regulars, but basically we need more, and I would like to see some of you guys and your talents respected on these <a href='http://www.anticubicle.com' target='_blank'>Anti Cucible</a> boards. Meh. That's all.

No, i will not be joining, to be honest i've never seen so many arrogant jackasses tearing apart people's hard work in a non-constructive way. Ontop of that, i'm sorry, but the standard of work rarely goes about basic Photoshop filters.

So we're arrogant jackasses? I dont think so, people on our forum respect each others CRITIQUES b/c they arent little babys who cry when someone says something negative about their work. They can take a critique and use that to their advantage.
As for Photoshop filters....look deeper into the work missy. You'll see our members have some pretty professional work. ie: whydoyouwork, ex247, rookie, steveR, meyssy, turn ect. ect.
So before you look @ a few threads and deem our members to be arrogant, and accuse people on our forum of rarely going past Photoshop Filters...take a look deeper.
Besides, most of the work on AC isnt even done in photoshop. Havent you noticed alot of Illustrator work? LOL
Anyway, the site looks nice.

I did have several others, but bugger it, i cba to go back over and search.
In short, i spent a little over an hour and a half looking over your forums, nothing really grabbed my attention, feel free to post some links here to prove me wrong, or work you think is cool, but i really just wasn't impressed.

well, as for that, um... i think i dont ever use any filters, and um... yeah i think all of our members are fine with the C&C, and all if it is constructive, and they all know that. you start to become a better artist when you can take what people say about it.

Honestly, it would be done by now. But i lost the site i was working on ( It was flash ) In the format, i had nothing to back it up on, floppy size was to small, i did not have a cdr... Etc.

Ok, well obviously i missed your work.
I'm going to keep this brief since i've just got home from work and don't really have the energy to type epic amounts after commuting.
I'll start with the nurse. I'll sum this up in the shortest phrase possible "F**king nice work". I don't think i need say anymore on that.
The portrait of yourself, while technically quite good (reminds me a lot of the work of Robert Lindstr?m) it just isn't "interesting". But it serves it's purpose as a self-portrait well.
The first two, hmm, photomanipulation, i can see the effect that you're trying to give with both of the images, they're just not vibrant enough and don't hit you in the way that i feel you intended.
Saddam poster... no comment. And the motorsports t-shirt, well, it's too literal and too obvious, maybe because i prefer a more minimalist style (especially when it comes to t-shirt artwork), technically good, but the image is entirely uninspiring.

The michelin flyer, well, it's corporate design, i'm well aware the restraints that places on the designer. Simply, it's as good as a flyer can be. Take that as you wish.
"Future Look" technically very impressive and excellent all round. I won't nitpick, just on the whole it's good.
whydoyouwork's work, well, it's functional, i guess. Poor looking "crumpled paper" effect, overused "SEX" attention grabber (i guess the copy isn't the designer's fault though). The photography is average (unless some of these are 3d modelled, which i have the suspicion they are) then it's quite good, but i won't go into paintball gun design, lets just say they're not exactly aesthetically pleasing.
The Terragen or Bryce picture... overused concept accompanied with cliche "mystical name", the programme does a great deal of the work to do and through playing with these programs, to do this kind of work is hardly challenging.
Pool Table... I take it this is photoshop or illustrator work and not the product of a 5 minute 3d modelling session. Whilst the techniques in creating this are obviously quite solid, there are a few aesthetic problems such as the length of the shadow, the angle of the shadow in relation to the perspective of the table and finally, the one that screams "JESUS CHRIST THIS IS SO BADLY WRONG" at me being why the hell is the 8ball reflecting itself? Poor attention to detail dispite the quality of the ground work.
<b>EDIT:</b> In closing, i'm a designer so i'm a damn critic, i have high standards (although myself rarely managing to meet my own standards) of what impresses me and have extreme views on art and design. I realise now that labelling you guys as "arrogant jack*sses" before i'd seen the extent of all of your work was wrong, for that i do apologise. But please understand that while i have high standards i just can't stand lower quality "art".
Am I the only one who thinks this should be locked now? I don't agree with the, "my art is better than your art" vibe I'm getting.
