<div class="IPBDescription">They are the most INCREDIBLE alien.</div> I forget what map I was on, but it's alot of closed spaces. The hives are The Great Viaduct and Power Silo. Anyway, I was messing around as Skulk, just having fun...then I go Fade (Hive 1), I knock off like 5 marines, almost die. I researc regeneration...that's when it begins. I'd ambush marines from corners, take on 5-6 at once. Then me and a Gorge sat outisde the 'Rine base slaughtering all who opposed us. Then I went Onos and 4 Onii slaughtered them. Next game on that map: Just some random killing, then we invade the MArine base. I take EIGHT MARINES AT ONCE. I kill almost all of them, then take off and the Onos finishes tehm off. Then I come back and we finish the base off. (I was saked if I hacked <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)
Cue next map, the one with the Tram Way. We start off okay...had a bit of a fight in the Sewer hive, but all was good. I research regen again, and go out from (I think) the Tram Way. There's a little rap arond where the 'Rines were starting to dig in...4 come out, I kill em all, I regen a few seconds, and take on like 5 more. I left after that, got bored.
Long story short: I'm never going to bash the Fade again.
Edit: Note in all the Fade stories, I never died once. I was the same Fade throughout all the games.

Many of them had both. Love jumping, strafing, and blink. I once got down to 25HP.
Ah Hive 1 grumble maybe...
I fear Marines w/ shotguns too. They had LMG's.
bingo. Brought down two myself today, with ym precious boomstick.
One LMG clip, one pistol clip seems to do it most of the time, actually. (must already be damaged)
I kill solo shotgunners on a regular basis.
For a hit and run attacker, it just doesn't pack enough punch to get the job done - only doing 80 damage per hit.
Against heavy armor, you are much better off just using skulks.
Its really not much more than an uparmored skulk until hive three. And by then, you might as well go onos.
Completely untrue. How often have you gone Fade?
I'd play them more often, but I seem to miss swipes waaaaaaaay too much. I can skulk bite like a MADDENED MAN I tell ya, but seem to miss like 3/7 of my swipes as Fade. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
He had adrenaline so that he could basically blink non-stop. Powerful alien. Just got to know how to use them!

Skulk bite has a range of about 1.5 meters forward (MUCH farther then you'd think) and to the sides. Fade swipe needs to be incredibly close. Furthermore, fades travel rediculously slow, and to avoid a fade, just hop around. Most of his swipes will miss.
That's one of the problems of the fade, the fades arm is longer than a skulks mouth but yet you have to be closer to dish some damage
and I hate hopping marines,hence I also play lerk <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
But... wouldn't it <i>more</i> make sense if it was the other way around? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Well that's funny Monkeybonk, because when I and most any skilled Fade choose a marine and blink at him(which, by the way, is the fastest form of transportation in the game except maybe Celerity skulks), he's pretty much dead in a second or two regardless of whether or not his reflexes are fast enough to jump around. And no, that isn't just newbies. It's just a matter of learning to aim, and people that never play Fade never get good at aiming with Swipe.

Your poorly disguised flame has been noted.
too late!
Today I went rambo with a shotgun and killed two fades at once <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->!
Kekekkeekekeke
Shotgun > fade > people who can't aim
Get out your knife, circlestrafe it, hop some, it's not really an effort to kill it.
Shouldn't a fade allways be in an ambush position thanks to blink? If you give them time to aim then you're doing it wrong <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I got to retrain my skill with the fade, have been in love too long with the deceptive simplicity of the vanilla skulk <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

That said good work on killing those fades. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Actually, one LMG clip is almost always enough against a fade, except when the fade has carapace level 3 and weapon upgrades are at 0, or when the fade has regeneration and the damage from one clip is only barely adequate for the kill.
Check <a href='http://www.nonoobs.com/damage.php' target='_blank'>http://www.nonoobs.com/damage.php</a>
Note that several cases will give you a kill only is ALL 50 bullets hit, which may be a bit optimistic so the pistol will still be required. However, a group of LMG marines will definitely have enough firepower to kill a fade, if they can shoot well and react fast enough. Even at carapace level 3 and no upgrades for the marines, it only takes 55 bullets.
