Played 20+ Games And Still Haven't Won

<div class="IPBDescription">I'm cursed.</div> Okay, I've been playing Marines since release. I play on pubs so naturally aliens kept beating our arse over and over and over.

So yesterday I decided to find a more sophisticated server. I found one recommended on the forums so I tried it out. Everyone seemed pretty good.

So I play a game, we lose to aliens. No biggie. I play again, we lose AGAIN. By now I'm thinking that the good comms aren't on right now, and that's confirmed with a third loss.

So I decide to finally do it. I'd played aliens a little, but not usually for more than 5-10 minutes before I went back to Marines. It bothers me because I can't see ANYTHING while I'm trying to bite stuff with the Skulk. That's right- I PLAY ALIENS.

Apparently our hive gets rushed and we lose. Odd- that's the first time I've seen Marines win and I wasn't on their side.

It was just a fluke I bet. Next game we seem to be doing pretty well, and I'm getting used to Skulking faster than I thought I would. But then later we're up against several HA marines with nade launchers and HMGs. Okay, maybe I randomly got matched up against good commanders. Whatever.

Next day (today) I go straight to a pub and play aliens. I figure it's a sure bet- playing aliens on a pub is like racing against an old man. I'm sure to win. And I need to win, because I haven't won yet and it's getting on my nerves.

So I'm playing killin' rines and such but they simply overwhelm us. WTH??? Did all the Marines suddenly get good? So I switch to Marines in the next game. We lose two games in a row. I go to another server play rines and lose. Another- I play rines- I lose.

As of now I've probably played 20+ games or more and I STILL haven't won. I guess I either must be cursed, have horribly bad luck, or maybe I'm such an aweful player that it rubs off on my teammates.

I feel your pain - the first game I played of 2.0 was as alien and I lost. Then I lost the 2nd one. Didn't lose another one for 20 games (as alien), but lost dozens as marine.

Here's what you do. Do something for good kharma. Give some charity money, help your mom out, whatever. Then IMMEDIATELY play some more NS.

Sounds like you're just having a streak of bad luck with your teammates. A good marine team is still fully capable of winning on a pub despite 2.0's balance problems. If you want to win more often as marines try 2.01b(or if you want to win all the time try 2.01c).

Just make sure to try and diverse tactics <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> works everytime except these local servers around me that speak Cantonese over the mic (BAAAAD)

Just try and suggest tactics,might work

if you want to "win" play as aliens, all the time.. 2/3 of the game minimum victory in 2.0 Especially if you're playing against newbies to 2.0 (like me, still).

Honestly, what you can try is waiting until everyone else joins, then joining whichever team looks more "stacked". And then making sure you're productive (I imagine you are, but, for example, as 'liens, just build a lot... may not always be the most entertaining way to win, but you'll help a lot). Hopefully, those two things will get you at least one win before you go nuts and shoot Flayra. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

This happens to the best of us. It's all odds really. If the marine team keeps losing, just keep playing on them until they win. Statistically speaking, with every loss on that team they're actually getting closer to winning. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

Plus, do what I do: play a game, see how well you work with your teamates (and how good they are themselves) and if you win and you thought they did a good job, follow them to the next team if they change teams after a game. After finding good people on a server, I can usually win most of the time if I stick with them. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I feel your pain. Happened to me once, and people DID notice.

Like 5 rounds of straight losing I can hear my teammates saying:
