I use my X key for voice chat...but it also wants to drop a turret when I'm a comm. How can I change what hotkeys control what items as a comm? Looking in the controls menu it wasn't apparent in there......

As you've probably noticed already, the commander hotkeys are set up as a 4x3 grid to correspond with the onscreen buttons. Many people use the same grid setup in Warcraft3 by using the "CustomKeys.txt", but unlike Warcraft3, I don't know if NS handles the commander hotkeys with a separate file that can be edited so easily.
Until someone who knows more about how to change it answers, I suggest binding voicecomm to something else (the closest to your X seems to be Alt, but you run the risk of hitting the Windows key.) Be glad you weren't one of the unlucky ones to learn the hard way that you shouldn't bind V to voicecomm; that's the recycle key!
You guys do know that you CAN change the commander keys, right? Maybe I missed something but in the customize menu, you can change the keys for the commander that default at "qwerasdfzxcv". Just change that field to something more practical for you. For me, I rather just rebind the voice chat to something else like the capslock key. Yes, you can bind that key but you have to do that binding in the console. Just type "bind capslock +voicerecord" in the console to bind it. On a related note, I find it annoying that the NS team assumes that we use the default jump and crouch keys. I had to rebind the my jump and crouch keys as well because of the commander keys. I use the S key to jump and the X key to duck so that is why I have a problem with the commander keys. Maybe they should make the Control, Spacebar, and the Shift key be hardcoded for the commander mode just like how the number keys and the mouse buttons are right now so I don't have to worry about rebinding keys.
