Try it, you'll like what you see
Whats up with all these ppl going redemption Onos?
I used to be like u guys for the first week or so, until i tried a regen onos. Its fun being able to devour w/o having to worry, and taking out turret farms.
I now almost always go regen unless res is tight and i need to have redemption.

Let's see less of the redeeming, devouring, llama onos!
If you rush the marine base and run out with lowish to 100-175 HP left and 4 marines chase after you? what now?
Redemption is for when the teams are stacked against kharaa/the marines are being lamers.
Regeneration is for when you want to have fun while still getting kills.
I havent' really decided which I generally last longer as, a regen or a carapace Onos... I think in a full on base assault, I'd last longer as Carapace, but for general use... regen. It also makes you the best electrified RT hunter in the world :-)
Redemption and Carapace are for extreme situations.
Redemption = When you're losing and are short on res.
Carapace = When you are up against a Marine team camping their base on 1 RT and you have lots of DC outside.
Regen/Celerity/SoF = win
SinSpawn: Then you deserve to die for not pulling out a little bit earlier. I tend to fall back around 200 300 if there is someone with a shotgun in there. Lose another 100 trying to wedge my fat arse through the door, heal up around the corner, (stomping and devouring any dumb marines that follow.) and come back.
It's the best when taking out marine outposts using guerilla hitnrun tactics.
You don't need healingstations, though they are good to have.
You can take more bullets and/or grenades before dieing (This I've tested, I can't remember numbers, but I know you can take more with regen than with cara when being an onos.)

Reasonable.
Another reasonable tactic is check for siege turrets. If there aren't any, call for a gorge to come join the fun.
Helping Onos is easy, you sit in the back around the corner, when the onos come back you heal spam for a moment, all the while saving up to drop d-chambers. Three or four d-chambers later, you can move in and start dropping bilebombs while under onos cover.
Still hasn't stopped me using regen onos But just something to note if your entire team don't understand the benefits of defending a hive.

In that case, yes. You needed good teamwork. A redemption onos probably wouldn't have helped either.
But in non-specific situations, regeneration is king. I think that carapace Onos is the one reliant on teamwork, since they can't heal themselves.
Regeneration:
-Significantly reduces time between combat since you're not getting pulled back or searching for a heal.
-Makes electrified structures a joke.
-Allows you to take on smaller amounts of turrets without having to run off.
-Stacks with other forms of regeneration (devour, DC).
-Can allow Onos to operate well by themselves or in groups.
in other words... he soaks up alot of damage for the other alien players.
