Who is interested.
I've been on the search for a good co-lo for a while now, and I've found a few really good cheap/more than functional providers that I'm considering. The first thing I'm going to do when NS comes out is get my own personal server running. And...

I'm wondering, exactly how many people plan on doing this? is anyone planning on splitting the cost of a co-lo with a buddy? Let me hear the plans!

When I'm not trying out with my clan I'll go look at some servers and mabey stay with a few good ones. I doubt I'll be buying a server though.

BTW, when NS comes out, could I get the ip to the server Sgt. Bilko?

Im looking into buyiong one or two servers when NS comes out (down from my original 5 cause my POS computer broke twice, and I lost 95% of my cash)

I feel like I should mention the guys that are providing the co-lo for our win32 playtest server. It is fast and reliable, and if you're in Mass (like Bilko), then maybe it would be the right option for you?

The company I found gives you a nice server that can easily handle two 20 player CS servers, and 400 GB monthly transfer for $99 a month and $1 setup fee.

Almost sounds too good to be true, but a friend of mine has one and he gets 300KB/sec upload and 200KB/sec download on average, you get root access and they have good tech suport. The servers are in texas and I get 60 pings to them from Mass.

    http://www.rackshack.net

    Go have a looky.

So, where is this co-lo in mass, they have a website? No harm in at least looking.

Jedi - It will be public, so you will be able to find it in the half-life server browser or on gamespy.

I would gladly help pay for a server but I don't have a job nor will my parents let me do such a thing. (I'm 16) However, if you are looking for some good and fast servers you can try ILan Station. When NS is released we are going to host at least 1 server. ("we" as in TFC clan I am in. I'm not sure if it is going to be Linux or a Windows server)

Ty for taking the time to read my rambling.

Well, I have a few original names in mind, but I'm not sure what, exactly, I'm going to pick. I'll be sure to post all the info here when the time comes

Well, in the EC forums I asked if anyone was planning on buying a server. After a quick math problem, I found that if all 15 of us donate then it would only be $2.66 (assuming the server is $40) a month! Then problems like different currency came, and last I heard Fam might take the cost on himself, but if he ever asks for help *money wise* we will send him some.

I will be running a small (<=13 player) server from my home when NS is released. Check the site link in my sig, but the ip listed there is incorrect.
