    Look at the time he made his post. It should be listed in your time zone if you signed up to the board properly. Add 40 minutes. So I think about 2:55 pm is the time to sign up (EST)

    I've tried already, but HLTV is telling me "Bad Server Password" I hope this is because I'm too early and not because I'm doing something wrong. Do I need NS started up, or will HLTV handle all those pesky little details for me?

    I wish I could put bets on this. I'd put all my bets on the aliens.

    Bah. Maybe I'll watch it anyways. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Well, I wouldn't call it a super match. More like a one-sided masochistic pounding. BM -dominated- from start to finish, on both sides.

    The critical moment of the 2nd game was when BM had a pg feint on one of the hives, while dropping the real pg at the other hive. 4 marines building the one, 2 at the other. The aliens all rushed to stop the two, while the other pg went up really well, and from there, Computer Core just went down.

    In the first game, Nature tried a shotgun rush, and failed. At that point, they basically lost.

    The Nature <i>sucked</i> horribly
    But as other has stated, when BM organised an attack on each hive, to distract them. Was the most exciting thing <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'd like to mention that in the 2nd game, when BM were the marines, they spent the first part of the game taking every node, not defending it, then moving on to the next. Within a few minutes, they had almost all the nodes. When an alien started trying to take down one of these nodes, one of the marines, usually Biomass, would go there and kill that sole skulk. He'd just sweep along, visiting all the nodes, and clearing them when they were under attack, while the rest of the team did other important stuff and drew the aliens' attention. Fascinating opening, and something that couldn't be done on a pub unless you had one or two pub players who could take the sweep job successfully.

    I didn't see much of the first game. Took me too long just to figure out that using HLTV.exe from the half-life folder is *not* how you spectate. Oops.

    Brief brief hightlights of the second though. BM as marines, Nature as kharaa.

    BM expanded *very* quickly. Aggressively claiming resnodes then leaving them to move on. They relied on marines to come and defend them if the aliens started biting. They put one of their team-mates (Biomass, I believe) into maintenance hive very early and just let him hide.

    Nature on the other hand, did very little resnode claiming. Maybe they were all saving for onos or 2nd hive? I'm not sure.

    The opening half of the game seemed rather scattered actually, with individual marines and skulks all over the map.

    A couple of fun points: Zakoid circle-strafting the marine RT in maintenance while Biomass chased him with a knife. Zakoid finished the RT and took off. Too bad he didn't stick around and finish off Biomass. It may have helped their team later.

    Also, when a skulk (missed the name, sorry) went through the horse-shoe vent to marine's empty start, snuck up and started chewing on an IP. A second skulk came and blew himself up on a mine, possibly what alerted their com, who hopped out of the chair and finished the first one off.

    The key point seemed to come, as stated earlier, with the double phase-gate tactic. Nature concentrated on the one phase gate just outside of Triad close to their hive, while BM put up a PG and TF with a few turrets in maintenance, locking it down. Strangely, while they locked it down, Nature just sat and circled around in their hive on the other side of the map even though no marines were present. At first I thought they were putting up chambers, but that didn't seem to be the case. Not sure what they were doing. Perhaps planning a later offensive?

    In any even, it didn't happen, as BM then moved straight to the alien's hive (suddenly, that apparant scattering in the opening game makes sense. Hive scouting) with a concentrated rush and took them out. Judging from how fast skulks were falling, I'd bet that BM had teched weapons all the way up, or are simply freakin' scary shots. It didn't sound like HMG fire.

    we didnt have lvl3 weapons until the last minute or so... we just got good aim and a little luck
  • FieariFieari Join Date: 2002-10-22 Member: 1566Members, Constellation
    I do have a question for any Nature members here. What was preventing you from claiming maintenence hive? I only saw a marine res node in there, nothing else, and for long stretches of time, there were no marines there or even near there. Did you just lose a gorge there and assume the the marines locked it down? Or were you concentrating ALL efforts elsewhere?

    I also noticed you didn't gorge much. Were you trying to rely on RFK to evolve to fades and onos early? Or did you just not want to build stuff?

    Nature were a force to be reckoned with in 1.04, but they haven't quite made the same impact in 2.0

    .bm played great though, and deserved their win...

    The uknsl sure does look interesting.. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    torment against .bm is next week, arguably the 2 best european current clans around at the moment...both teams have got a win in their first week games, so this should shake up the top a tiny bit, and give one of the biggest and most anticipated uknsl matches to the public to watch through HLTV...looks like fun <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
