<div class="IPBDescription">dling</div> Hey guys im new to this so help me out if i do anything wrong .Ok so i have dled the ns file two times from diff sites yet i cant find how to start it up and when i try to go in cs and look for ns severs ns is not on the list. I Know that it said i need hl to run it but on some sites it also said it would work if i just had cs so plz help me out here.

hhmm it seems to be that you probably have counter strike on a filte to only show counter strike games...since all of half life and its mods run on the same program you have to change that with every different mod you play....either that or you just didnt notice the few hundred natural selection servers amongst the 986987986999 million counter strike servers...so i would check yer filters..see what happens <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Is it that you can't start NS, can't filter for NS, or just that you can't find NS servers?

Is it that you have Half-Life with the Counter-Strike mod installed, or do you only have the full Counter-Strike game, no Half-Life at all involved?

It's possible to install Natural Selection with the full Counter-Strike game, but I'm not sure if the procedure is a little different.

If you're going to look for Natural Selection servers, go into your filters and change them, the most important part being to filter the servers so you only see "ns" (Natural Selection) games.

ok thx for all the help ok when i try to filter for ns, ns isnt even on the list,i have just cs installed not hl anything eles u need to know?

Try starting up counter-strike, and then selecting NS from the list in custom games. Then go see if the filter works. I think the desktop shortcut is buggy the first time or so.

What you need is a dummy HL.exe. I would search for this in Tech Support as it is discussed in there and how to get it to work... Unfortunately its not just plug and play <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

ns is not in custom games so i think its that i dont have it installed right so maybe u can give me a link to some place i can dl it,and u dont need to install game spy do u?

o and after i install it the only icon that i c for "starting the game" is called ns dedicated sever so this makes me think i dled the wrong thing so it would help all if u gave me a link to where i could dl it....ty

yeah, sounds like the dedicated server files..

there are a whole bunch of download links in the downloads section on the official NS site (www.natural-selection.org). Just make sure you grab client, instead of server.

I have been there is the frist list of links under downloads for the game?cuz i have gone to two of those links yet nothing,and is the size of the file 116megs?i think u can give me a link to where u got it from.ty ty ty
