Can Anyone Help?
One day I was browsing through tech support, and I saw roob's guide on how to get the higher FPS if your's is stuck at 60, something about the windows refreash rate, I dont know. But, I downloaded the program to boost my FPS, but it actually made my game worse. Lots of people got good FPS out of it though, so I was wondering, how do I make the monitor refreash rate back to the default lock at 60?

Any help would be greatful.

Did you update your monitors drivers? If not that could be the reason it looks worse, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Otherwise right click on your desktop, choose properties -> settings -> advanced -> monitor

I had the same problem.
There are 2 things to look at.
First of all : Have you installed the Service Pack 1 ??
If you havn't youl'll need one of those many programs out there to override the 60hz limit. (I'll google for a link in a second)
If you have installed SP1 , then de-activate Vertical Sync.
In case your using Detonator drivers do the following :- right click -> Properties -> Properties(where u can choose the resolution) -> advanced
-> [Insert the name of your Graphikcard here] -> OpenGL Settings.
Then just set VSync to off.
Everything should be fine now.

[Edit] ok i completely misunderstood your question ... never mind. [/Edit]

Turning vsync off causes tearing for me, i prefer to leave it on. I don't notice a difference between 60 and 100 fps, and nothing is fps dependent anymore, so it doesn't matter.

Indeed... I assume everyone knows that TVs are only 60FPS, and that anything much higher than that (or even I believe 50 is lost to the human eye... Unless your some kind of super human, or a fly.
