Banned For My Opinion...

<div class="IPBDescription">Keep my mouth shut?</div> Hi, im new to this forum, ive been checking it out thought for awhile

But at this moment Im a little angry

On one of the h2o servers, the 20 person one, its a public beta server, I was on marines in eclipse, we had Maint locked down and everybody was there except me I was at base. Suddenly 5 skulks <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'> and a lerk <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif'> attack our base(we have no Phase yet) and waste me and begin to waste our base, I tell them comm just to relocate to Maint, we will be fine...

He then has all the marines come back to base to kill them with IPs down, they rip the marines apart one by one, since they dont travel as a group and we lose, in Readyroom I yell at the comm(not with a Mic, Text <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'> ) and then somebody vote_kicks me because they said since I wasnt comm I dont get to say anything

I come back and then the admin of the server at the time, ShockerX, says for me to leave or ban me...

Looking back I shouldve just left and went to another server, but I stated my point that a Marine is allowed to give comm advice on what to do and he says no, Marines dont get to talk and HE BANS ME! <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>

Of all the nerve, he couldve muted me or slapped me around(I like being slapped around), but he skips the middle man and bans, I dont know if its timed or perma, but right now Im not thinking of that, What I want to know...

Should a Marine be able to give the comm advice or just shut up and follow orders? Marines following orders is crucial to the game, but should Marines have a Voice too?

Go talk to someone who can do something about it and stop whining on this forum trying to get sympathy.

There is no way anyone can side with you or against you because we only have your version of the story.

And btw marines don't have an opinion, just shut up and follow orders. If the com is good you might win (if the alien team sucks) if the com is bad you will loose no mater how much you tell him what to do.

Jason, I believe that is actually "to do and die", not "to do or die". It has been misstated over time because people have a hard time thinking along the lines of that no mater what you do you will still die, people prefer to think that if you succede u will live

i would think it would be quite usefull to have a marine relay info to a comm and give suggestions... like, i've played a game where the comm and a few vet marines (me and some other guy <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'> ) worked together to win the match. right off the bat, i took a squad and the other guy took his and we went to seperate hives, locking them down simultaneously. we would tell the comm to drop an rt once in a while on the way, and then we'd tell him where tfs were needed and where phases should go.

more to the point, i think marines and comms should work together, as a team. the comm may have the power to drops stuff down, but he's no diff from any other marine on his team. he sees some things the marines don't see, and the marines see some things the comm don't see. i personally don't think marines should just shut up and do whatever the comm wants. but of course, i have no room to talk as i don't comm <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

Since you're new, I won't be an @$$, but in the future admin abuse complaints are heavily frowned apon here, if you want to complain track down a website related to the server you had problems with and email an admin or post on their forum.

Or even better, pick one of the other 500+ available NS servers.

1: If you have a problem with the way a specific server operates, take it up with them.
2: Marines should just shut up and do what the commander wants. There are few things more irritating for commanders to have a back seat driver. If you want to call the shots, and think you can do a better job - hop in the chair in the first place. The marine command structure isn't a democracy.

It doesn't hurt to point out blindspots in turrets, request a phase gate, request medpacks, maaaaaybe request an arms lab if it's like half an hour in to the game. But that's really where it ends. You can only see one tiny area of the battlefield - you have no idea what the commander might be doing with other troops on the other side of the map.

Anyway the first thing I tried was looking up there website but it seems it was down, and thanks for the advice, this will most likely be my only whining post here

If i was in your position i would have done THE EXACT SAME THING.

People in these damn things, only care about their ego. "I dont have to take orders from my marines, im the danm commander and i'll do what i want" ... Pride blinds people, and makes them forget their kinder side. "Pride leads to death" is what i say.

I take the ban, not because im stupid or a nub but because i dont want to come back to such a server where no one can take advice, even if it is from a lower rank. The Private can suggest things to his Sargent but only if his Sargent isn't a egomaniac trigger-happy freak whom's pride blinds him to even the most simplest solutions in situations such as death.

You can't know everything at once, but god danmed i would've taken that suggestion you'd given...

You know i dont really know what makes those people tick. Think you're better than anyone and your a lesser human being in the process.

Looks like this one's gonna get locked like the rest of these "omg i got banned is it REALLY my fault?!"

Hint: no one really cares, just take it up with the owner of the server.

They banned me for ending the game (recycling base).

That was a bit overload for something I just did once. I could've understood if I did it constantly, but I only did it JUST ONCE!

Besides, it was late night for me, didn't know what the hell to do.

Back on topic...

Yeah, it doesnt matter if you were banned. From what you said, the people there just aren't the type you'd wanna play with anyways...
