Open Range Review
<div class="IPBDescription">no spoilers</div> Its not like the ending isn't obvious. Once again Kevin Costner plays the same exact role, the warrior with a short temper but in the end he's the hero. Same thing as in Waterworld, the Postman, and probably some of his other movies that I refuse to watch.
Anyway, I can say a couple of really good things about this movie. The settings were awesome. The movie sets actually looked like a mid 1800's Town. The Gunfight was amazing. You can tell they put a lot of work into it. (I'm thankful to say that the movie didn't show Kevin Costner running down the road with 2 sidearms shooting around 30 bullets and everybody insight). Robert Duvall did a very good job, and if you should see this movie for any reason, it should be for him.... and the gunfight.
However I do not recommend you pay 9.50 to see this movie.
Now for the bad, I don't think I've ever seen such a cornier movie in my life. Well I have, but this isn't far off. I HATED the way they protrayed the cowboy as being noble. Its not the way it was. The ending is predictable as always. Everything was corny, the beginning was corny, the ending was even more corny.
Up until the gunfight the movie was pretty much boring, and I didn't really care about any of the characters, except Robert Duvall's.
So, don't see this movie unless your getting it for free. And even then you might want the 2 hours of your life back.

Sat down in our seats and shiat, some tall dude in white shirt comes in and tells us to leave and go to the proper movie we bought in, which was open range...
The rest was...well...bad...and we were just acting like idiots you would hear in the back of a theater making stupid sounds and comments...And to come and think of it, I think we were pretty immature...
But it was a bad flick nonetheless, nothing like costner's old film dances with the wolves IMO..
