c:\sierra\half-life\hl.exe
?
1) What is the name of the file you downloaded?
if it is not <a href='http://mirror.redphive.org/ns/ns_install_v20.exe' target='_blank'>ns_install_v20.exe</a>(or you aint sure) DL it again from there.
2) What do you own? HalfLife, CSretail, DoDretail?
3) what is the path of your hl/cs/dod dir?
if you are unsure simply right click on any shortcut you use to launch any WORKING HL mod (or HL itself)
go to properties
copy the "target" and past it here.
thank you good night <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

You can look via Windows Explorer and see if there is a c:\sierra\half-life\<b>ns</b> directory. If so, is the NS directory all full of files and such?
Also, while we're in there, in the c:\sierra\half-life\hl.exe file, can you:
1. Right-click the hl.exe
2. Choose 'properties'.
3. Tell us what it says for 'size'.
4. Click the tab marked 'version', and tell us what it says for 'file version'.
We're almost there I think.
edit: and I know all this because I coded that installer <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Don't tell me you warezed it though, as I will have to stop helping you. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Then reinstall half life.
Then patch half-life with the 1.1.10 patch from one of these locations:
<a href='http://www.fileplanet.com/download.aspx?f=57317' target='_blank'>fileplanet</a>
<a href='http://www.cscentral.com/dl/dl.php?719' target='_blank'>cscentral</a>
<a href='http://www.cscentral.com/dl/dl.php?719' target='_blank'>fileaholic</a>
Then run the NS 2.0 install.
Everything should be working fine then.
