I was just wondering how you say where you are like that, cuz there has been a few times where someone asked where i was and i had no clue.

Just type in say_team (normal team communicatio) whatever you want to type, and other people will see where you are. It's not like you have to do anything else. However, if you're not in a named area, it won't work.

Also, your area is reported in the bottom left corner of your screen. That's what the words in blue are.

By the way, generally when a commander says "I don't know where you are" in response to a request, they want you to use one of the popupmenu comms thingies so they can find you. The "requesting orders", "I need ammo" and "I need health" messages generate an alert in the command console, which the commander can click on to go right to you. So if you want health, don't ask over teamchat - request using the comms menu.

By the way, only request orders or health once (don't keep using it if the commander doesn't drop stuff on your head right away). Each time you use it, the alerts stack so it looks like three requests for health (for example) when there's only one. It's no big deal, but it's a minor pain in the backside for commanders to have three alerts send them to one marine.

It shows this for everyone, including you. What's confusing you is that you aren't seeing it with your own chat messages. This is actually very smart, as this means less screen clutter. You know where you are yourself (either from experience or from looking in the bottom left corner, as Soul said), so you don't need your own chat messages telling you that. Don't worry, other people see your location on your chat messages. Remember that if you type in general chat (default key "y", the one that all players see), the other team will see your location too, so don't do that if you're on some secret mission or otherwise want to keep your whereabouts hidden.

I don't know about that. I don't remember ever seen an enemy message giving a location.

You can see teammates' locations over whatever chat they use, but I don't think globabl gives away your location.

Because you can see your location to the bottom left anyway.

Though I admit that it is a bit confusing at first. When 2.0 first came out, one of the main questions was how you report your location like everyone else.

Dibbles: You cannot see where you are yourself, only your team can see the location you are in.

Again: You can't see, where you are in the chat log, but you can see in the little blue bracket in the left corner.

Funny how many times the same question can be asked and answered, right after another, in the same thread.

Personally, for instance when asking for med/ammo/res towers at my location, I either type or say something AND then quickly use the right-click comm menu to report "in position", just in case the Comm doesn't have time to go find me. It informs the team AND the Comm, seems to work well. Unless I don't have time to do all that, just to get my point across... which is more than occasionally...

    Why did this get bumped?

Anyway, "in position" doesn't trigger an alert for the commander. You don't need to tell the commander where you are when requesting a medpack, because medpacks DO generate alerts which the commander can simply click on to get to yo.
