1. NS is designed for Opengl

2. Download ns 2.0

after that, check back here if you have any other probs

There is no such file. Use one of the client download mirrors from the natural-selection.org main page.

It's interesting that they don't say anything about OpenGL performance, then specifically DO mention it in their tech FAQ. Oh well...

wait.. you mean the one i downloaded is... not the right one? or shouldent exist? hmmmm that would explain alot.. i'll try downloading it from the main site(witch i did in the first place) so i'm kinda stumped.. but i'll try again..
if i do and it still bugs up... i donno what else to do..
oh and i just tried opengl in NS just for the heck of it.. and it seems it does work.. yet still freezes..like.. 4 seconds after i start a game..

If it freezes in one mode, freezing in another mode is quite likely too. Download a proper version of the NS client ONLY from one of our approved links on the natural-selection.org or readyroom.org webpages. Update your video drivers and audio drivers as well.

k i found a link on the Game Broadcasting Live forum and i played on opengl 100x700 (something) and when i play.. i get the multiplayer screen while i play.. so a part of the game can be seen but most is over lapped by the multiplayer screen ... i'm getting the latest sound drivers now (to be sure i got em)

That can happen in any HL mod when you run a listenserver. Just hit your 'escape' key, then 'resume', and the box will go away. It will not happen in regular multiplayer.

D3D = garbage

if you can use OGL it works MUCH better!
