Recycling Stuff

I was in a game today as marine, and right from the start our comm started to turret farm. It was just a huge patch of turrets, maybe 4x4. Anyway, when the comm leapt out for a sec to do some building, one of the other players went in and started to recycle everything. And I mean everything, even the IPs. There was a whole lot of yelling and cussing. I was mad too, though I didn't really say too much.
The player who recycled everything said he did it because we were going to lose anyway. I'm pretty undecided on whether recycling IPs is a good idea to end a stalemate, but this was maybe 5 minutes into a game, and the aliens hadn't even made a major move against us yet. Recycling the turret farm I could understand (though I still would have been ****, as well some of the other players), but what about the IPs? Is it going too far?

A good indicator though is that he got yelled at a lot. If his team still wanted to play, then he was not authorized to make that decision for them. If everyone had agreed that surrendering was the way to go, no problem (except that it's always annoying for the aliens when the game ends after five mintues because the marines screwed up). But he went against the will of his team, which wasn't ok (even though he was actually doing the right thing). His team wanted to continue playing, that's what matters.
If he had lost all hope he might as well just change server or F4
