Trouble Using Voice Comm

i'm having trouble using voice comm. - the setup in half life works, i can monitor the mic in the system, but when i click on the voice comm menu, i get the warning icon on the bottom right corner of the screen.

i'm behind a ( <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> )firewall - do i need to open certain ports to allow this function or something?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it happen to have a circle around it by any chance??

If it does that means you are already talking,NS has a funny way with voicecomm appearing on top of people's heads with an exclamation mark hehe
