This thread has only helped me appreciate the PTs and Vets evenmore. But I ask one thing, can we please get screenshots of ALL the icons available in NS?

Cost is a major factor. Cost is the only thing that catagorizes alien 'tech' into 'groups'. Early Game, Mid Game, and Late Game. Imagine if you all spawned as an onos. I personally take admin action against people who disrespect PT's and constellation members. They have no right to insult the people who volunteered time and money to help develop the great game we are all playing. It's alright to be upset becasue the game seems off balance, but don't be an **** about it. It's all being worked out. Life will go on.

Kinda twisted example :/ It's what the person do that matters, and vets/const. and PTs all putted time/money and effort into this mod, more than you've done
I know this will probably vanish into fat air but here is my thoughts.
it will be next to impossible to ever make the game even for your average joe all the way to your 24/7 lets war guyz.
What i think that would work alot better would be a tweak in settings for tourny mode.
This way you break the far left wing from the far right wing and your average player.
You wouldn't need huge tweaks, currently 2.0 owns for the better teams of NS but at the cost of pub games, a player that is playing his first game of NS is more important then any other player in NS even those top clan leet guys.
With out them NS will die, but if you don't look after the other end they will move on. I think a tourny mode should change ammor / damage to help look after the more seriouse people. While having different ammor / damage for pub games which will looking after the new players and your average joe.
even a slight change in the game can do the world a good when the big change is comming from the players skill level.
Bottom line: If you can't appreciate that people invested lots of their time working (the word is working) on a game you're playing for free, we can't help you, either.
Whoa whoa whoa, what's with all this "jealousy" nonsense. Some people don't like the majority of the playtesters/vet's because they didn't balance the game out correctly (people like Savant are the exception to this.) Sure the Pt's and "Vet's" balanced the game, but they balanced it into boringness! Read: "We had to change the game at the last minute because it wasn't fun." Let's not forget all the bugs they missed... waypoints in the ready room, health bars in the ready room, can't climb bar texture stuff, being able to electrify any building you want, and the occasional xenocide bug.
In essence, the PT's and "Vet's" failed at what they set out to do in the first place.
Quote from Sirus "You guys [the general public] don't know what you want." Well, obviously they didn't either. "Ok, we have to change this...that...Oh wait, only 3 more days until the release? Change it ALL back!"
I can appreciate, as well as most people, a game that people worked on for free, i'm not insulting the developers at all, they did their job just fine. The method they used to try and balance the game was a good idea; however, it train wrecked.
Solution: Scrutinize a bit more about the people they are letting in. (eve, sYn, and certain elitist "vet's" who will remain nameless.)

Sorry, I'm sick of this.
Maybe you all don't understand the scope of the game. Maybe you don't care. Maybe you're even more arrogant than the PTs and Vets you accuse of being so. The fact of the matter is, you don't know what playtesting was like. You have no idea how hard some of these guys worked, and you have no idea how upsetting it is to receive nothing but vitriol for our work.
Look at the list of recent departures from the community. Have you noticed the new moderators, or the fact that many of the old moderators aren't around/active anymore? How about the #ns Ops? Have you noticed that MonsE is stepping down from his role as PR guy? Did you know that Relic left the team altogether? Many playtesters have stepped down as well, and Flay's been hard-pressed to find replacements who are as dedicated and mature as they were.
They're all tired of being treated like crap after all the work they've put into this fantastic game. And even if it has problems, I'll bet most of you will agree that NS is one of the best games on the Net today. So why not take a step back, shut your mouths, and stop expecting the world to be handed to you on a silver platter?

I believe you did what you could and I think it's sad to see some fools being jealous of a small icon.
And about the fades, I agree with Monkeybonk. Sometimes I alone can take one down
