I'd love to see a futuristic shootgun shoot 10-20 laserbeams at the same time...
I like it's rate of fire. All they need to do is speed up the animations. Slowing it down makes it rather useless. Yes, it's a siege weapon, but I concider it a "jetpack into the hive and nail it down", and you wont have much time before the aliens start coming around. Slowing it down makes it useless.

and whats wrong with the shotgun moddel? if you ever see a shotgun you will notice there actualy quite small. and i think the shotgun is probably the weapon that is most "grity" in NS. one of the reasons its my favourite. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Well, since it is the future, I guess they would have totally perfected the pump-action shotgun so that the spring is nano-reinforced or something for extra springyness and stuff....

This sounds amazingly like most NS map situtiuons...
SGs are great! Nothing like pretending your Hicks, takin on 4 and 5 Aliens at once shooting off your mouth, saying things like. "Oh you want some!" *BLAM* "Bring it on!" *BLAM* "Chew on this!" *BLAM*
Then when you run of of ammo you can say the most famous hicks line! You know the one.

That would prevent sending reinforcements with heavy weaponry. I have always imagined that the mothership is actually pretty far from danger and TSA sends a boarding vessel to investigate the ship/station and to build a outpost if needed. And they might not want to send premium equipment with the first boarding vessel because they don't know what it is like down there. They don't want to lose hundreds of resources for nothing.
