I have seen it in 2.0 and now in 2.01. What is it and what does it do?

If you fire parasite at a switch it will "use" it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Oh, like back in 1.04. I thought it was something like the marine could "switch" off the parasite or something like that.

I've been hypnotized before by parasite switching. I would run up to a door behind which marines would be hiding, and I'd start opening and closing it. Then someone would run up from behind and kill me because I'm so busy playing with the door.

I like to shoot Marines with the parasites, personally.

Gorge spit also used to do this, which is being reintroduced.

It's fun when you are playing around with the switches

Bu when it comes to closing doors....ala bast bigdoor,it is NOT fun if you are wedged between the 2 doors when a skulk closes it

No it's not, and especially not for gorges. It's nice to be able to call the lift down before you get your fat backside there.

I always found my self in 2.0 shooting gorge spit at the switches, expecting them to work.

    Glad its back in 2.1

I find it's handy for getting around quickly as a skulk - you can parasite-open the door as you're running towards it and not even have to slow down.

It's also a good way of luring marines to you, or at least to get them within parasite range. Open the door, they come to investigate, and you zap them.

It doesn't work on any switches on 2.0, or at least the ones I tried.

A note to skulks out there: don't spend almost the entire game hiding in a corner just opening a door every time the marines close it. You don't accomplish very much for your team.

Your wrong there, if the marine closing it is an idiot and spends the rest of the game keeping the door closed your pretty much taking him out of the game.
