Simple and easy!

1) Have every single WW2 item that is possible. To daggers(SS Himmler Honour Dagger), flags (ReichsKriegFlagge), pictures, post cards, letters, autographs, vehicles, especially the german ones. Tiger, Tiger II,Panther, panzerjager, sturmpanzer, and the panzersturmosser (not sure if i spelt it right). Uniforms since a lot are around 7,000$.

2)Have teh very best computer that could possibly come out.

3)Live a long good life.

But if I could only choose one out of the three. Number 1 is on the top of the list. But who says wishes cant come true :/
• JavertJavert Join Date: 2003-04-30 Member: 15954Members
1) To have a million dollars. Money is a sign of security and of course, elminates other wishes left and right, and being a college student, it's not a bad thing to have. Of course, there is always the temptation of extravagence. Then there will be the burglary attempts, the salespeople, and the spam mail to buy this and that. And then the possible separation between you and friends. But all I'd do with the million dollars is to pay off my college expenses (textbooks, grrr), get a new computer (heightening that burglary problem again), and not break my parents so much so that they could get a really good vacation (they deserve it). Of course, this dream can come true with good, hard work. But in today's America, can it?

2) That me nor any of my friends or relatives do not die prematurely, including accidents or murders, or suffer any deadly diseases. Of course, old age does not count. Why can't I just wish this health to everyone in the world? Well, good question, but would everyone deserve this? No. But if a friend is so disfigured and suffering after an accident of illness, would it then be fair for him to just die instead or contemplate suicide. Fair, but quite wrong. Nothing beats life down except yourself.

3) No wars and massacres. For crying out loud, haven't we learned after 5000+ years??? No need of explanation except for the question of how some "leaders" can be so blind or willing to sacrifice lives upon lives for property or laws.

1. Wish this thread had never been made.

2. Wish communistwithagun was never born.

3. Wish the internet never existed.

lol okay, just fooling around

1. First I'd wish for super-acute senses. You know, be able to focus on distinguishing features on a person 10 miles away. Be able to selectively see the electromagnetic spectrum. Have eyes that have photoshields that could allow me to filter out the sun and look at it like I'm looking through a solar filter. ETc etc etc.

2. Be able to teleport wherever I wanted.

3. Be completely immune to environmental factors. This includes hot, cold, no atmosphere, radiation, etc. etc. etc.

Why? Because I'm a huge astronomy buff, and there's nothing better I'd like to do then to travel among the stars where I want. Get an upclose view of a binary system. Travel through the crab nebula.

*sigh*

This thread made me depressed. So I guess I'll wish that this thread had never happened

This might seem very silly, but it's what I would actually wish for.

1) I'd wish for all diseases to have a cure, safe to be administered at birth.
2) I'd wish for everyone to be able to think logically and intelligently, yet still retain the ability to be entertained, and still retain an imagintion. This would naturally prevent unneeded wars, conflict, prejudice, etc...
3) I'd wish for everyone to have a long, healthy, happy life. There would still be depression, sadness, anger, etc.. That's human nature, but there wouldn't be suicide, murder, or crime.

Right now, I'm sure that at least one person is laughing at me and saying "Bull****, he'd be just as greedy as everyone else." You can think that if you want, but those are what I'd be wishing for.

Three wishes eh.

Thats kinda hard your right.
My wishes seem to be a bit original.

1. I want to meet a woman who I love and who loves me. I want to marry said woman and raise a family.

2. Wisdom. (God was pretty happy when Solomon asked for that so it cant be bad for me )

3. I want my kids to be proud of me.

1. I'd wish for everyone in the world to be unbiased, unprejudiced, open-minded, compassionate and non-judgemental. This would naturally end all religion and bring about a new golden age.
2. 1 billion dollars. Hey, if the world's perfect why don't we have some fun.
3. Confidence and self esteem.

Failing that, all I'd wish for is the destruction or removal of the human race from earth.

Exactly, religion in itself isn't bad. Its those people that twist it and mutate it to further their own means which causes religion to be bad.

Well, i don't feel like posting the "cure the sick, feed the poor and world peace" Miss America speech. I'm selfish, we all are, so these wishes are for me.

1] An end to prejudice, be it racism, sexism, homophobia or whatever, i want to be able to walk down a street and not have insults thrown at me because i look different.
2] An endless amount of money in my bank, so i will never be poor.
3] To be talented in one area. I've always been "OK" at a lot of things, be it drawing, music or anything, i've never felt i've been great at something, for once i want to be genuinely good.

Hehe, I have to apologise, that remark was pretty much intended to stir up any religious people around.

And of course I suffer from bias, we all do. I just try to suffer from as little of it as possible, and my desire has brought me from a devout roman catholic to an extremely anti-religious atheist. This obviously isnt up for discussion in this thread, but I do truly believe that the reason why (organised) religion is so widespread is because people refuse to be open-minded and refuse to rid themselves of bias. The evidence is stacked up against a god, yet they refuse to look at it because they have 'faith'.

DISCLAIMER: Firstly, the starter of the thread said we should list our reasons for our wishes, so this isn't hijacking. Secondly, if any of you religious types want to argue this, we can take it up in the religion threads.

Shame on the people who wish they had more money. Not that I want to be excessively moralistic , but if you obtain money from nothing , then you're stealing others. You will pay others and they will work for you : that's exploitation. By spending money you don't deserve to have , you're exploiting others. It should be common sense for Marx's sake.

Ok , my share of pointless , selfish wishes :

1) More sex-appeal
2) More willpower
3) More convincing in discussions

so true...

and, bah, it really is a hard question... the world is such a delicate ecological, social, and economic balance... if I wished for all diseases cured, human population, which is already skyrocketing out of control, would probably, like, weigh more than the earth in 50 years =P and wishing for world peace would require changes in the fundamental nature of the minds of every human... as good as peace would be, we would no longer be the same species if violence were removed from us... and if I wished for a bottomless bank account, and I spent it like crazy, inflation would rise out of control and whatever currency I was using would wind up worthless and have to be replaced anyway =P

I'd have to wish for something like an unlimited supply of natural resources, like a bottomless oil well or something... at least that has intrinsic utilitarian value... infinite oil would get rid of the CAUSE of a lot of wars... and with all that oil would have to come a resilient atmosphere, or some method of disposing of CO and CO2 and the like...

wow, I have just become painfully aware of what a social science major I am...

My wishes:

1) I wish for 1 billion dollars so I can start an expedition for all the lost civilizations and relics in the world, like Atlantis and etc. But I would only obtain this money after hard painstaking research.
2) I wish to die for a good cause or gloriously.
3) I wish that I could sleep in 2 seconds and wake up the next day with no problems.

Those are my current wishes.
