1) You would have to have a non-radiating cat; otherwise it would observe itself.
2) You would have to have a impenetrable box.
3) You would have to have an isolated system, infinitely far from other sources of radiation or matter (since there is always the possibility that another particle is actually inside the box at any given time (granted, it's nearly 0 probability, but it can happen)
As seen above, Schroedinger's cat box wouldn't work under normal circumstances, and you probably shouldn't be betting your money on getting away with murder with one of them.
