Problem: I see little waves running up and down my screen....but its very subtle I don't notice unless theres a dark backround...This is a new monitor and It recently just started. Its very hard to describe. Its not annoying untill I notice them, and I was curious if anyone knows what the problem might be.



/EDIT I tampered with the "moire" a bit, cranking the horizontal moire helped a little but its still noticeable on dark surfaces in game. (Black walls, etc)

Could be a defective monitor, my monitor was doing that and all my parents did was send it off to the manufacturer and fixed it

Also are you sure nothing is interefering with it?? Is there something like a TV,radio or cellphone near it?Could also be 1 of the causes

Disabling v-sync seemed to help but when i REALLY focus I still see them...bleh Ill get used to it.


Its never been weird before. Only things near it are 2 speakers cable modem and lamp...



/EDIT UPDATE: It only seems to do this on 1024x768x16@75Hz....Any reason?

Speakers can cause such things on monitors, put them further from your monitor. Also try using higher refresh rate if it changes (also the refresh rate you said you are using is the *lowest* ergonomical one)..
