<div class="IPBDescription">give me feedback</div> I'm about 15% done with ns_shiva (or so my clipnodes tell me). The section that I am almost finished with includes the steam tunnels and coolant processing hive. Here are some shots of it. Please give me descriptive feeback. Tell me what can be improved.

Looks amazing, just make sure its easy for onos to get around without having to duck under a pipe every 3 seconds.
I especially like the first screen - the architecture is simply <i>amazing</i>. I also very much enjoy the running orang-ey theme - it's not seen very often <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The only criteria that I can think of is seen in picture 5 - the Orange light texture that you're using for trim seems to be cu off at the end. Of course, that isn't a big deal at all.
Otherwise, utterly fantastic work <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'd suggest either using a round light brush with the round texture of keep your rectangular brushes with a rectangular texture.
The lighting is perfect and the architecture is to die for. This map looks really nice.
Love the first pic especially. Keep up the good work.
Get them fingers mapping <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Seriously, wonderful work, good lighting contrast, and great use of textures. Well done.

I gotta know when I'll be that good and how long it will take to...be that good... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Great map though, my god its cool. Jeez, it must take forever to make those hallways and what now, wow. I should really look to some more maps for some inspiration.
But, is that onos friendly? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Off to the questions.
I've made sure to make every hallway passable by oni without ducking. The only thing they have to duck to get under is the pipe in the first shot. I don't think more than one at a time can get through in most cases though, and there aren't many places that they can jump. In the hiveroom itself they might have a little trouble because of the two levels. I've jumped around in there a bit and its ok, but you probably aren't going to want to defend that hive with oni. The surrounding hallways are much better for that since they can't be jetpacked well.
I'm not sure how long this took me in man hours. I've been working on this incarnation of the map for the last month or so. If you wan't to see what it used to look like, check this out <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=32523&hl=ns_shiva' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...523&hl=ns_shiva</a> . I've been mapping for halflife since the begining of the summer, and I did a little mapping for unreal before that. I spent most of my "mapping" time this summer just cruising around ns_hera and seeing how things are done. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The lighting effect at the top of the shaft is just an additive haze sprite at 128 or so about half way up the shaft and scaled up by four.
Thanks again guys <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The lighting is fantastic... I'd really like to know what vis and esüecially rad parameters you use.
Can't wait to see what your maps will look like once the ns2.wad comes out.

If you want my constructive opinion...
Steam tunnels. Where's the steam?
Put loads of steam into every one of those tunnels!!111 Especially that red-strip texture - that looks great with steam.
w00t.
Great! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have to say that this is a <i>beautiful</i> map. Just plain gorgeous. Did you post a layout anywhere?
