hate hate hate hate ammo humpers. So many awful games feature marines who spend most of their time humping. And the worst is that they all finish their humps at different times... and then go out individually as nice little candy treats for the aliens. Sometimes I think setting waypoints is a gift to aliens rather than a help to marines.
Takes a lot of discipline to get off the armory - too many marines enjoy getting some hardcore "armory action" before they leave.

Armory fills you up COMPLETELY full when you hit it. ONCE.
Give the Aliens something else to balance it out. I don't know, + 10 armor as skulk?
Armory humping is only a problem when the humper does not know when it is a bad time to get ammo or a good time. - The begining of the game is a bad time cause of skulk rush. I cant tell you how many times I have seen Armory humpers get wasted by a skulk rush
- A Turret farm or other key location with PG is under atttack!! DO NOT GET 250 rounds get 1 clip (2 25's) of LMG or none and Phase to defend, assuming the Comm is ordering Defence.
- Do not hump the armory if you are going into an area were you know your life expectancy is slim get 150 LMG and 20 Pistol as a standard and go. This allows you to move quick and allows enough extra ammo should you live.
- HMGs refill quick so they are not a prob, Shoties and nade launchers need full ammo but just use your brain when loading up, dont get caught humping by skulks or GAS etc.
They don't have insta-armories for a reason. You have to strategically decide when it's a good time to fill 'er up or when to pay $5 and have just enough to get you to where you're going.
As Fantasmo pointed out, listen to the guy who said it depends on the situation.

omg now THAT is overkill. If you have to reload with the pistol you're dead anyways.
I get 50/150 ammo if I've got a new unexplored WP. I get 50/100 ammo if I'm going to a WP that's in dispute. I only get 200-250 ammo when I know I'm going to use it- if there's Onos hit-and-running the base for example and I want to get in a protected part of the room to shoot at it over and over.

I usually LIVE through a few skulks, so having that extra ammo to reload when you get the chance if priceless. I go through more pistol clips than lmg clips in the average game.

Whats that comm? The outpost is under attack? You want us to phase through?Wait ar....im still taking full 250/30 ammo for my lmg/pistol....whats that?Phase through NOW?Not me.....im still taking ammo...theres 6 other mariines....get THEM to do it....oh wait.....they are all taking ammo...no wait.....thats wrong.....2 guys are running out of the base....What?The phase gate is down?Shrug,i was taking ammo.Even though i cant use up all of it due to my horrendous aim,i still like the feeling of going out with full ammo.Oh whats that? Its OUR fault?OMG why dont you blame yourself, you are the comm!Stop blaming the marines and admit you are wrong!OMG what a control freak!EJECT EJECT!!!!!!!
I used to have a problem with this. In CS, though, not NS. I used to play and I would ALWAYS grab 30/90 or whatever. Always full ammo. I actually used like 30 bullets in all per round. I probably brought that habit over to NS, but it quickly faded away once I saw there was no need.
I don't mind people getting full ammo. Especially if they're guarding base, you don't need maneuverability. But if there's a phase inside the hive and there's Onos trampling your teammates and you're filling up your ammo... I will cut you.
Me, I always grab 50/100 and 10/30. I tend to waste away pistol bullets too quickly, so I use it as a 'finisher'. Sometimes, if I'm feeling lucky, I grab an extra 50. Shotgun is always half-full, HMG is always full. What really sucks is, sometimes when I don't get any ammo at all, I always end up with 0/0 for both guns when I'm right inside the hive.
it all boils down to the situation. The problem with "armory humping" is that alot of people haven't figured out what situations require what yet. I mean, early game skulk, I ALWAYS get 1-2 marines humping the armory, because everyone is watching their ammo fill up full, and no one is paying attention. BEFORE the first skulk rush is NOT a situation that requires full ammo. Little stuff like that. It seems like common sense to me (and most) but people honestly have a problem with it.
If you're planning to take down offence chambers, load up on full LMG/Pistol ammo. If you're going to a place that is under attack, using all of your spawn ammo before death is unlikely so don't bother. Long trips, take more ammo (running out of bullets when you're near a hive isn't good).
