As I recall, the earliest versions of NS included clip reload, as well as 2.0. It was only 1.04 that temporarily got rid of this feature. And it is only because of the grenade launcher that it is being removed once more. You can live at the hospital without your kidneys, but if only one of them isn't working, don't take them both out.
what makes u think its just the gren launcher that it was changed. of course it played a major part. so why didnt flayra just have it so it was only GL that didnt get ammo straight in gun, it would make sense to do that if that was the only problem. I doupt he is gonner think, well theres only one gun with a problem on the armoury, still i might as well make it so no guns get ammo in clip.

stop been lazy and reload, yes u may die from it but thats the way it goes. The disadvantage for marines is they have to reload their guns leaving a short opening for an alien too attack. really, what is soo bad about it.

I agree to earlier post: Reload time is there for a reason.
If you are afraid that your team can't fire while reloading, don't reload at the same time as others!

reload time is there for a reason, and u would be stuck with it while out on the battlefield. but in base, u should be able to reload quickly. its more fun than waiting so u can pound another lmg clip into an onos AFTER waiting for the 50 bullets to collect from the armory AND to swich thoes bullets from ur majic pocket to ur gun.
If the marines have the Tech to make full clips of ammo spontaneously appear, y cant they make them appear in the gun? the grenade launcher could have the excuse that each round is individually loaded and this is too hard for the armory to do directly

Because those are the rules, silly.
If you really need an ingame reason, consider that while nanites are able to create a clip full of ammo, they seem to take a while to destroy anything (guns, etc). So it can't insert bullets straight into your gun because it would have to dissolve the old clip first.
