Eliminating The 40 Hour Work Week

<div class="IPBDescription">...not good at all.</div> We all love over-time. Time and a half on holidays/saturdays, double on sundays. Goodie. Recent company has decided that all should be on standard time...requiring saturdays. The union fails to fight it...

This is a true story by the way, discuss...

That's the benefit of being in the military. There's no bussiness grappling with unions or arranging work hours to satisfy everyone.

Or move to France where it's illegal to work more than like 35 hours.

I agree commy. If they need workers to work on a regular basis overtime, they need to hire more workers, plain and simple.

Let the free market reign. If companies cut worker benefits, they'll probably have a tough time competing for workers in a good economy. In a bad one, the workers will just stick it out and wait for better times.

Amen, especially with so many people needing jobs. This is ONE instance where I for one, don't like big buisness and in fact, damn near feel liberal when thinking about it. Thats saying a lot....

Too many ****' higher ups can't even get their own hands dirty, or work on holidays yet throw it on the little people ALL the time, and now don't expect to pay them a little more. Thats crap. To think, I HAVE to pay union dues, to a bunch of people who jack **** for me, and I still have to pay them while I'm away at college and holding a job that I'm only going to be able to work at once every three weeks.... Basically just to pay off the union dues.

    **** the union.
