Problems
I'm not quite sure what I did to make this wrong but for some strange reason my Internet Explorer will ONLY save pictures in bmp format. Even if i try to change it myself it will always have the bmp extension and I cannot change it on the drop down box.

You can still bypass this

Just save an image like this:

In the box File Name: Just use quotations like this and use the file extension you want to save it as:

for example:

"help.jpg"
"help.tga"
"help.gif"
etc

Make sure you use quotes

Clear your temp internet files and clear any unknown or damaged downloaded program files. To do that go to tools - internet options - general. Click delete files, then click settings then view objest in the new box. Here sort by status and remove any that are damaged or unknown.
That should solve it.

Thanks Emsee I no longer need to use invetred commas to work this. Although it took 15 minutes to get rid of the temp files :S

Yeah, Mozilla's one of the things (along with CygWin, PuTTY etc) that make using Windows bearable.

Yes, instead of fixing the problem, just go download a whole new browser. That's a way better idea. Let's not learn to solve problems, let's just avoid them like scared street urchins. This is the same sort of 'throw your hands up and surrendor' response that makes me want to deport your entire generation to France...

Here is the fix for your problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;810978

(Edit: good post Emsee, you beat me to it.)

Do you use Windows 95/98/ME? If so, I would recommend reformating one more time... then installing another OS...

Yeah. I would really recommend some other browser than IE.
I used IE for years and then when I tried another broswer I realised that IE really sucks compared to Opera or Mozilla. Opera has more nifty features like zoom and hotkeys and its faster(yeah, it really opens the pages faster). Do you want to be a part of the problem or the solution? So dont support the M$
