Crashing

Well recently I've been crashing 5-10 minutes into a game reguarly. Sometimes I will crash 5-6 times in a 45 minute period, this is obviously getting quite frustrating and I havn't been playing NS because of it. I've read through the posts and looked at the stickies. Havn't found anyone experiencing this.

It mainly crashes to desktop and I get a Windows error, but it doesn't specify anything. Sometimes it'll just disconnect from the server and pop into console mode and I'll have to retry. That happens about 1/5 times (popping back to console).

I have windows XP pro and my specs are as follows:

2.4c Pentium 4
4x 256 meg sticks of unbuffered 3200 DDR
Abit IS7-G
Radeon 9800 pro

I didn't have these problems on my old machine. (1900+ athlon, 512 ddr, geforce4 4600)

Don't know whats up. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Sorry I can't provide you with more details, they really aren't there! I also have all the new drivers yaddayadda and am running DirectX 9.0b.

    Are you sure the server isn't kicking you for some reason?

    edit: might be some admins screwing around with you. there's a plugin that makes admins able to make players "quit" h-l.

    I'm an admin at the servers that are crashing, so thats not it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (*edit* that made it sound like its only those servers...its all of them)

    Also to Thansal, I reinstalled it twice already <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->. Complete wipes of the HL folder after I went through the correct uninstall procedure (I'm not just deleting the sierra folder). I'm getting an error but it won't specify, just says "send this to microsoft yadda, yadda, yadda." :/

    Ahh. If you are getting a DR Watson error ('send this to microsoft') please click the link on the error screen that allows you to see more info. Tell us what info it gives you about the malfunctioning module. There will also be a message in your eventlog with the same info. If we have that we'll know what the actual source module causing the problem is (my guess - hardware driver).
