3rd Person?

in NS General Discussion
I saw some guys talking about 3rd person in NS on a server, they were speaking about a command in the console. When i asked what the command was they said it was a Clan secret and refused to tell me, then i said its probably just a addon on the server and they said it wasent. They still refused to tell me, is this 3rd person thing new in 2.0 or something, anyone knwo anything about it?
couse im just courius about it, was it a addon on the server or is it in NS mod ?

    I remember some commands that required you to reconnect a server to activate 3rd person in AHL. They fixed it in the next patch ( although it was a pain in the **** to play, looked good). TS , I assume, auto turns on these commands if you press 3rd person.


    NS, to my knowledge doesn't allow going 3rd person. I'm pretty sure it's scripted in the game, or at least set so on most servers.

    you could do it in 1.x, no clue if you can in 2.0.

    It would certainly make skulking easier, so they probably removed the ability to do so.

    If you start your own lan server you can use the command thirdperson(turn on developer mode with developer 1 or the wrong model will be displayed, use **** to have the camera follow you from behind, there are also ****, **** and some other less usefull commands.). You are not supposed to or able to use the thirdperson command to play NS with thirdperson, it is not supported but it works descently on a LAN and probably if you are the server admin but this command won't work otherwise.

    I think it is all for the better that you can't do it online since it would allow lame looking around corners among other things.

    You used to be able to do this in 1.X but im pretty sure it cant be done in 2.0
