The "blocking" Phenomena

<div class="IPBDescription">Does it really exist?</div> Blocking , I have been told, is when someone eitehr blocks entry or exit to a certain location at a certain time.
Meaning blocking the escape or attack of fellow teammates ...
How exactly does this work? Are you supposed to know when the other players are going to back up? If you ahve your back turned you sure as hell cant see them coming, and I doubt many people block teammates for fun.
I remeber being blocked several times as an onos trying to run, but it never bothered me, since people always try to move over when they realize whats happening. I am more concerned that people dont follow up on a "coordinated" attack...
So, what is a legitimate block and what is not?

1) <b>Higher levels first. - Smaller alien levels MUST go out of the way of Higher alien levels.</b>
(this includes skulks Gorges and Lerks going out of a fades way, fades are faster but also weaker relative to their price)
2) <b>Right side Traffic. - Right side attack, left side (later) retreat. </b>
(when any alien hits the face of another alien (same level) you go around at the right side first)
And Yes, I enjoyed blocking ignorant, no teamplay, ****, teammates to death many times.

bah every1 knows you that the right side to use is the left <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Hehe, I can just see it now; the oni calmly charging (ooh, an oxymoron) into the marine base on the right hand side, and neatly running out on the left hand side.... like an alien traffic jam <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Yes, I hate blocking, especially when it's a 60 pound (or so) skulk blocking a 2 ton (or so) onos.
Something like that... In plain English this would be: Please kind sir Onos, would you remove your large buttocks from the hallway, for I am a lower-level lifeform that does not need to get to the position you were retreating from, thank you... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
normally I just give others right of way but when you're trying to escape to regen on 12 hp you're going full pelt and not watching where you're going as well as you could <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
if you're about to run in and attack and you see someone running away that'll probably hit you then it's better you dodge because the escapee will be too busy panicking to think straight =3
A reflex I got is to crouch and move to the side when I see someone is falling back, or if not possible move back along. As skulk I'm often on the ceiling and as lerk I'm always behind. As gorge I'm usually right behind it but in such a way I can healspray without hindering our movement.

That's definatly me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Regardless of my kills (I always seem to come 2nd or 3rd) I always have a high death score.
I think that's a good thing, since it shows i'm willing to sacrifice myself for the team. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
In 1.04 I was always the one who blew the hole in the mine wall so that the other skulks could get through.
Blocking would then be a thing of the past.

RUN <b>INTO</b> <i>MY</i> line of fire while im shooting a skulk or another type of alien with a shotgun/HMG...
you = respawning.
me = not sorry for your stupidity.
I mean, YOU CAN SEE MY BULLET TRACERS, RIGHT? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
People blocking.. hmm, not so much. The occasional gorge trying to sneak in behind to build when an onos rushes in, that kind of thing. Or just general chaos when everyone tries to go somewhere at once. I usually play lerk if I'm anywhere near a battle, so it's easier to fly out of the way or even take a bullet for your fellow player if they need a minute to get away.

I can strangely see those little side separating paint thingys on the road showing up in NS maps in the next relase <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
